Dani Olmo set to make Barcelona debut as La Liga confirms registration

Published on

Barcelona summer signing Dani Olmo is set to make his La Liga debut as the Catalonia club finally complete his registration with La Liga.

Olmo arrived in a €60m deal from RB Leipzig earlier this summer but has missed the Barcelona’s’ first two league games of the season against Valencia and Athletic Club.

The Euro 2024 winner who is expected to play an important role under Hansi Flick will now be available to play in Barcelona’s La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday, reports from Spain have confirmed.

According to Mundo Deportivo and Marca, La Liga will ratify Olmo’s registration in time to feature in the midweek trip to Madrid.

The recent departures of Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City and Clement Lenglet on loan to Atletico Madrid have freed up space on Barca’s wage bill, while Andreas Christensen’s long-term injury has resulted in the club removing the Dane to accommodate other players.

Barcelona have also sanctioned the departure of Mikayil Faye and Vitor Roque. Their departure helped the Spanish giant secure Olmo’s registration.

Hansi Flick is currently without Frenkie de Jong and Gavi in midfield due to injury. The former Germany manager will be counting on Olmo to help maintain their push for the La Liga title.
