Arsenal star linked with shock €40m move to Brazilian side Palmeiras

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has been linked with a shock move to the Brazilian league with his former side Palmeiras eager to sign the Brazil international.

Jesus has failed to secure a starting spot in Arsenal with Mikel Arteta opting to start former Chelsea star Kai Havertz. Arsenal were reportedly open to selling the 64-time Brazil international during the summer transfer window but no move materialised.

Latest report from Bola VIP has now indicated that Palmeiras are willing to sign Jesus.

Jesus started his career with the Brazilian team and went on to score 29 goals in 83 games over two seasons before Manchester City snapped him up. The report added that Palmeiras are eager to have Jesus in their squad ahead of next year’s expanded Club World Cup.

The report adds Arsenal are willing to sell Jesus during the January transfer window if they can recoup around €40 million (£33m/$45m) for him, and Palmeiras may be willing to match that figure in 2025.

Jesus has made 83 appearances in all competitions since he joined the Arsenal and has been forced to start from the bench. This season, the Brazilian has had to settle for brief appearances as a late substitute in three of their five league matches.
