‘I’ve had conversations’: Ex Chelsea manager opens up on Erik ten Hag’s job
Manchester United are currently going through a tough phase under Erik ten Hag and the Dutchman has been linked with an exit if things don’t change for good.
Erik ten Hag’s is at risk and various managers have been linked with replacing the Dutchman. Topping the list of managers linked to replace Ten Hag is former Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
However, Potter has refused to be drawn into speculation over him and Manchester United, saying a lot of what’s in the media is ‘untrue and false’.

Discussing the prospect of taking the Man United job, Potter told Sky Sports: “I think what I’ve read so far in the media, a lot of it’s untrue and false.
“I think I’m the only coach in world football that’s been linked with Stoke City and Napoli in the same week!
“I take what the media say with a pinch of salt. I’ve had lots of conversations with lots of people and for the respect of everybody I think it’s best to keep those private.”
Asked if he’d welcome the challenge by host Dave Jones, Potter replied: “I’m sitting here enjoying the challenge of answering your questions, that’s where I’m at at the moment.”
Potter has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023 after a disappointing 31 games in charge, but his fine work at Swansea and Brighton has kept his stock high.
Potter is also a name firmly in the mix for the England men’s team job. The Three Lions are yet to get a permanent coach following the departure of Gareth Southgate and it’s left to see if Potter will be considered.
