Leeds consider sacking Daniel Farke 48 hours after Premier League promotion

Published on

Leeds United have secured promotion back to the Premier League, however, the club manager Daniel Farke could be allowed to leave for a new adventure.

Burnley’s win over Sheffield United confirmed that Leeds and the Clarets would make their return to the top-flight at the first attempt. However, that does not guarantee Farke’s position at the club.

With promotion secured, Leeds could yet secure the Championship title with two games of the season remaining but the club’s hierarchy have reservations over Farke’s abilities.

According to the mail, the German boss has not convinced his superiors that he had has the credentials to achieve success with Leeds in the Premier League. A decision has not yet been made however with an understanding that such a move could quickly backfire, but prospective candidates are said to be being examined.

The Premier League has continued its impressive nature with promoted teams being relegated back to the Championship.

However, with Farke’s experience with the team, the Yorkshire club are unlikely to make a move unless they are convinced they have found a replacement who can bring success. There is some concern that such a decision could irk supporters, and a poor start to next season could impact the atmosphere at Elland Road.

Farke’s season in charge currently sees his side top the Championship on goal difference, and the team have already set a club-record points tally. The 48-year-old coach has already twice won the division in charge of Norwich but has seen less success following his promotions.
