Diego Simeone involved in furious full-time altercation with Ben White

The UEFA Champions League semifinal match between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid got more intense after the final whistle as Diego Simeone appeared to call out Ben White.

In a game full of controversial decision, Premier League leaders Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw against Diego Simeone’s team. Viktor Gyokeres’ first-half penalty gave Arsenal the lead heading into the break.

However, Atletico Madrid equalized in similar fashion. Julian Alvarez smashed home from the spot in the 56th minute after White conceded a penalty for handball.

Arsenal believe they should have been given a second penalty kick after David Hancko appeared to catch Eberechi Eze in the box.

Referee Danny Makkelie initially pointed to the spot, but after being sent to the monitor by the video assistant referee (VAR), the official overturned his decision, much to the dismay of Arteta, who fumed after the game.

However, Arteta was not the only one who lost his cool after the match. Simeone was also caught in an awkward situation with Ben White.

Simeone saw red when Arsenal full-back White appeared to walk over an Atleti crest emblazoned near the tunnel.

A video posted by Spanish outlet Marca shows Simeone exchanging a few words with the England international before several players and members of staff became involved in a ruckus, with the Arsenal man pushed backwards before disappearing into the tunnel.
