Atletico Madrid looking to sell €70m signing in January

Atletico Madrid are prepared to take a decisive decision in January as they are willing to let go of one of their more treasured midfielder.
Diego Simone’s side brought in Conor Gallagher from Chelsea during the summer while Pablo Barrios has seen his stock rise following a run of impressive performances. However, Thomas Lemar has been tipped to leave the Spanish club.
Lemar has struggled for prominence at Atleti since suffering a serious injury at the start of the 2023-24 season. Last month, he made his long-awaited return to action, although he is unlikely to see many minutes before the winter transfer window opens.

Latest report from ED has now claimed that Atletico Madrid will push to find a new club for Lemar, who originally joined Los Colchoneros in 2018 for a reported fee of €70m.
Given his current wages at Atletico, a loan move is likely to be on the card while Atletico are also prepared to see him leave on a permanent basis.
Tipped to play at the highest level when he arrived, Lemar’s time at Atletico Madrid has been massively underwhelming.
2025 will see him wave goodbye to the fans and it’s left to see where he ends up playing. Lemar has played 135 LaLiga games for Atletico, scoring nine goals and providing 14 assists.
