Jurgen Klopp set to hand Erik ten Hag new job weeks after Man Utd exit

Erik ten Hag is currently without a job having been sacked as Manchester United‘s head coach, however, things are about to change.
As Erik ten Hag await a new challenge, former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will begin his RB project on January 1 and he has been tipped to make a brave decision that might affect Erik ten Hag.
Klopp is set to decide if ex-Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders will be sacked as Red Bull Salzburg manager as they’ve been struggling for consistency.
RB Salzburg are on a five-game winless run in the Austrian Bundesliga and it’s looking like a change will be implemented soon.
Also, RB Leipzig have failed to keep up with their good form in the Bundesliga. With three losses in four, they’re completely out of the title race.
On top of that, they’re 34th in the Champions League league phase with five defeats from five games. This has also led to talks of Marco Rose facing the exit.
According to Dutch football expert, Marcel van der Kraan, Ten Hag could be Klopp’s pick as a replacement.

“He was linked with RB Leipzig before joining Man United – and they are having a right struggle,” he told talkSPORT.
“They lost all their games in the Champions League, they got a hammering of 5-1 [against Wolfsburg] their coach Marco Rose is under big pressure.
“I think they are looking at him [Ten Hag] at the moment, and it could be a moment where Man United think, ‘Ooh maybe that will save us a few pennies if he joins them soon’.”
Despite their rivalry in the Premier League, Klopp might recommend Erik ten Hag for the coaching job. The Dutchman previously worked in Germany where he impressed with Bayern Munich II under Pep Guardiola’s first team.
He then went to Ajax and led a young homegrown squad to within a whisker of the 2019 Champions League final, later joining United in 2022.
Despite being sacked at United in his third season, Ten Hag is reportedly looking for a new shot at football management and Klopp might offer that.
