Chelsea Effect!! Tottenham star deactivates social media account after backlash

Despite leading 2-0 in the first 15 minutes, Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 4-3 defeat in the hands of Chelsea on Sunday evening.
Goals from Jadon Sancho, Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer ensured Chelsea won the London derby in a thrilling manner. The result has now seen a Tottenham Hotspur player face a huge backlash from fans on social media.
After Spurs’ 4-3 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday, Pedro Porro reshared a statistic posted on X by stats account Squawka which stated: “Pedro Porro is the only defender to be directly involved in 20+ Premier League goals since he made his debut in the competition in February 2023.”

However, this post made Porro face the wrath of Tottenham fans who were not too pleased. Spurs fans piled on to the pro after this because he posted nothing about the damning defeat.
With the pressure too much, Porro deactivated his X account. This is not the first time a Tottenham player will be deactivating his account after facing backlash from fans.
Porro’s team-mate Johnson decided to leave Instagram in September after receiving nasty abuse that was called out by manager Ange Postecoglou.
However, the call out led to a serious uptick in form for the Wales international. Johnson scored six goals in six games after deleting Insta and has been heaped with praise ever since.
With Tottenham looking for a way to turn their season around, Porro will be hoping the same thing happens to him.
Tottenham and Porro will be eager to make things right when they face Rangers at Ibrox in an all important Europa League clash against Rangers at Ibrox.
Johnson already has three goals in the competition this season and will be looking to add to that tally against their Scottish opponents. Meanwhile, Porro will also be looking at producing a great performance.
