Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri hospitalised, club release statement

Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been released from hospital after falling ill this morning. Sarri, 66, was reportedly taking training with his Lazio side when the incident occured.
He was then taken to the Villa Mafalda clinic in Rome. However, his club have since released a statement to reassure fans. They confirmed that Sarri has been released following a series of tests.
“Coach Sarri is returning to Formello and, as scheduled, will lead training at 6pm,” he said. “He underwent a thorough fitness check this morning, more comprehensive than the tests the players underwent at the training centre.”
It is thought that the warm weather in Rome could have contributed to his admission to the hospital. Temperatures in the Italian capital reached 35 degrees today.
Sarri only returned to his role at Lazio last month. In March 2024, he resigned after almost three years in charge after falling out with the club over their work in the transfer market.
He duly took a a 15-month sabbatical from football before being reappointed as head coach on a two-year contract this summer.
