Moises Caicedo addresses comparisons to N’Golo Kante, Claude Makelele

Moises Caicedo has made his feelings known on comparisons to legendary Chelsea defensive midfielders N’Golo Kante and Claude Makelele after scoring an outrageous goal against Liverpool.

Caicedo has become famous for his tenacious tackling and ability to dictate the game, attributes that has seen him likened to Kante and Makelele.

The £115 million ($155m) signing from Brighton continued his good form last weekend by scoring a thunderous strike against Liverpool. However, despite his recent brilliance, Caicedo remains humble, distancing himself from comparisons to club icons who achieved greatness in their own right.

Caicedo made it clear that while he is grateful for the love, he still has a long way to go before matching the achievements of Kante and Makelele.

“It’s so good the fans love me, but for sure I am very far from N’Golo Kante or Makelele,” Caicedo said in an interview with Chelsea’s official media. “What they did here was a lot. I am going to keep working because I want to become a legend here and reach a lot of things with this amazing club.”

Caicedo has grown to become an important piece in Enzo Maresca’s team and has not shown any sign of complacency.

Despite having some first-team players like Cole Palmer injured, Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool proves they can stand side by side with any team.

With a break for international duties ahead, Chelsea will regroup and return to action with a crucial clash against Nottingham Forest on October 18.
