Barcelona Legend Jordi Alba Announces Retirement

Barcelona legend Jordi Alba has announced his decision to retire from football at the end of the season in an emotional video shared on his social media accounts.

Alba enjoyed a successful 11-year spell with Barcelona’s first team after returning to the club in 2012 following a stint at Valencia.

During his time with the Catalan club, Alba formed a historic partnership with Lionel Messi that became one of the most effective on the pitch. On countless occasions, the full-back assisted the Argentine to help his team find the net.

After leaving Barcelona in 2023,he joined Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in the United States.

Undoubtedly one of the best full-backs in the history of Barcelona and Spain, Alba won six La Liga titles, one Champions League, five Copa del Rey trophies, five Spanish Super Cups, one Club World Cup, and one UEFA Super Cup, in addition to a European Championship and a Nations League title with the Spanish national team.

In his first year alongside Messi and Sergio Busquets at Inter Miami, Alba won the Leagues Cup. The veteran left-back is now set for a new adventure after an illustrious career.
