Joshua Zirkzee considering January exit due to lack of playing time

Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly desperate to exit Old Trafford in the January transfer window as he’s frustrated over his lack of game time under Ruben Amorim this season.

Zirkzee has featured in just three Premier League games in 2025-26 and is yet to start in any of their matches. Following Amorims’ appointment last November, Zirkzee featured in 21 consecutive Premier League matches until his season was cut short by a hamstring injury.

However, United’s decision to sign three new attackers in the summer transfer window saw the Dutchman fall down the pecking order.

Zirkzee’s lack of playing time has impacted his place in the national team as he failed to earn a call-up in Ronald Koeman’s latest Dutch squad for their October qualifiers.

Reports from the Daily Mail has now claim Zirkzee is seeking a move away in the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old had attracted interest from Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli in the summer, although United rejected both the proposals. With Rasmus Hojlund heading to Napoli instead, it is unknown if the Red Devils would sanction the exit of another striker.

Meanwhile, The Sun reported last week that Como boss Cesc Fabregas has shown interest in the Dutchman as the Italian club aim to strengthen their frontline and push toward the top half of Serie A.
