Nottingham Forest reject Man City £106m bid for Elliot Anderson

Manchester City have seen their hope of signing Elliot Anderson this summer suffer a huge setback as Nottingham Forest reject their second bid worth £106m.

Currently one of the most sorts after talent in the Premier League, Manchester giants are pushing hard to sign Anderson. The 23-year-old is widely regarded among the best midfielders in the Premier League.

However, according to The Athletic, Forest have made their stance clear regarding the future of Anderson, rejecting a second massive approach from City.

The latest offer from City was worth a guaranteed £106m, with further add-ons potentially taking the total package well beyond that figure.

Despite the huge fund on the table, Forest are reportedly unwilling to sanction a sale unless the deal beats the current British record transfer fee.

Currently, Alexander Isak’s £125m move from Newcastle United to Liverpool holds that record.

Forest are demanding more than that figure in guaranteed cash before they consider parting with their prized asset.

While City might return with an improved offer, Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest.

The Red Devils were heavily linked with a move for Anderson earlier this week, however, the soaring price tag has changed the landscape for the INEOS-led recruitment team.
