Tottenham make decision on key defender as interest from Serie A grows

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to sanction the sale of some players this summer, while bringing in new ones to help the squad next season.

Having escaped relegation on the final day of last season, the London club is determined to move on from a disappointing campaign. Manager Roberto De Zerbi is keen to make bold decisions in the transfer market, but selling Destiny Udogie is not among his plans.

Destiny Udogie has emerged as a target for both Juventus and Fiorentina, with sources confirming enquiries have been made regarding his availability ahead of the new season.

However, reports from Teamtalk claim Tottenham have made it clear they are in no hurry to entertain offers despite growing interest from the Italian sides.

TEAMtalk claim De Zerbi has been hugely impressed by 23-year-old since arriving in North London and regards the Italian as an important part of his plans moving forward.

Udogie started every match under De Zerbi apart from Tottenham’s trip to Wolves and produced a series of performances that further strengthened his standing within the squad.

De Zerbi has reportedly inform Tottenham hierarchy that Udogie is not for sale and he’s impressed with the Italian development.

However, there is still a belief that Tottenham will sanction a deal if suitors are willing to submit an offer in the region of £50million.

Even then, there is little expectation inside the club that a deal will materialise.

Udogie is expected to continue at Tottenham as the club aim to get back to their best after a dissappointing season that saw them finish in 17th position.
