Julian Alvarez splits with long-time agent after failed Barca transfer
Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has reportedly ended his partnership with his agent following a summer of transfer controversies.
Alvarez failed to secure his dream move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window despite publicity stating his desire to leave Atletico.
While the Catalan side reportedly offered €100 million, Atletico held out for his full €500m buyout fee and closed the door on negotiations.
The Argentina international was also linked with a move to Arsenal, but that was quickly shut down as Alvarez wanted a move to Barcelona.

According to TyC Sports, Alvarez has now officially ended his partnership with his long-time agent, Hidalgo.
The decisive step concludes a professional relationship spanning nearly a decade, stretching back to his formative years at River Plate through to his spell with Manchester City.
Parting ways with his representative represents a clear effort by the striker to defuse internal tension and reaffirm his commitment to Los Colchoneros.
The transfer drama saw Alvarez booed by Atletico fans. But their relationship have improved in the past few weeks.
Alvarez has made four appearances under Diego Simeone this season without registering a goal or assist in 85 league minutes.
He will now be eager to impress when Atletico return to domestic action on Saturday with a trip to face Alaves in La Liga.
