Daniel Dubois Destroys Fabio Wardley in Two-Round Blitz to Retain WBO Title
LONDON — Unlike their first epic encounter, which provided a grueling, back-and-forth war of attrition, the long-awaited rematch between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley at The O2 Arena was a masterclass in sheer, unadulterated devastation.
Dubois delivered a chilling performance, demolishing Wardley inside two short rounds to definitively retain his WBO heavyweight world title.
A Lightning-Fast Start
If Wardley hoped to catch Dubois cold, those plans were shredded within the opening seconds. Just 17 seconds into the first round, Dubois uncorked a concussive right hand that severely wobbled Wardley, sending him crashing backward against the ropes and forcing a frantic early defensive scramble.
Rather than rushing recklessly, Dubois applied calculated, suffocating pressure, trapping Wardley with heavy jabs and punishing hooks that left the challenger visibly damaged and fighting on pure survival instincts.

The Second-Round Finale
The end came swiftly in the second stanza. Smelling blood, Dubois unleashed a relentless multi-punch combination that pinned Wardley in the corner, absorbing unanswered heavy blows.
Recognizing the immense danger and the toll his fighter was taking, trainer Ben Davison wisely signaled for the towel. Referee Steve Gray officially waved off the contest at 2:21 of the second round, sealing a five-minute demolition job.
“It was my time and it’s my era,” a jubilant Dubois declared post-fight. “I had bad intentions from the beginning, and I came in here to make a statement.”
