Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have both been nominated alongside the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal for the FIFPRO World XI.
Unlike the Ballon d’Or, which is decided by journalists, FIFPRO’s World XI is decided by professional footballers.
With more than 26,000 members of FIFPRO, effectively a trade union for soccer players, best player in each position will be decided by those who participate in the game actively.
The final XI will be unveiled on Monday, Nov. 9 and here are the nominees for the men and women category.
