Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi has refused to discount leaving the Bundesliga club this summer amidst interest from top clubs.

Adeyemi was in action for Borussia Dortmund’s first pre-season game against FC Erzgebirge Aue as he was part of the players that arrived early for pre-season having missed out of a place in Germany Euro 2024 squad.

Now under new boss and former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin, there are reports that Liverpool might pull a surprise move for Adeyemi.

Speaking to the media around that game, Adeyemi gave a slight update on his future. The pacy forward clarified the transfer rumors, which have also seen him linked quite strongly to Juventus:

“I can’t say anything about that,” he told Ruhr Nachrichten. “I’m wearing a Dortmund shirt, and I’m very happy to be wearing a Dortmund shirt. There are no guarantees in life.”

For his part, coach Sahin was also relatively elusive. But he expressed a desire to keep hold of Adeyemi:

“Karim knows what I think about him,” he said. “I’m not going to start commenting on every rumor. I’m not playing along.

“What’s important to me is what I want from Karim. And what Karim told me is important to me. Everything else is not my concern.”

Liverpool has been linked with a move for Adeyemi this summer. But it is far from the first time, with the winger linked all the way back in 2018. He was reportedly on trial with the Reds at the time but ended up signing for Red Bull Salzburg.

Links again came along in 2022, after Adeyemi had proved a hit in Austria. He eventually moved to Borussia Dortmund instead.
