Man Utd, PSG agree 50 million pounds deal for Ugarte transfer

Premier League side, Manchester United have agreed to acquire Manuel Ugarte from Ligue 1’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for 42 million pounds (about $55.7 million) including eight million pounds (about $10.6 million) in add-ons.
According to ESPN, the deal will be formally completed when Ugarte passes a medical examination scheduled to hold in the next few hours.
Ugarte who has been linked to United for the major part of the transfer window may be able to make his debut for the Red Devils against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Uruguayan midfielder made 37 appearances for PSG last season and tallied three assists after the French powerhouse paid 50 million euros (about $55.9 million) to land him from Sporting CP.
Despite arriving last season, PSG manager Luis Enrique is willing to let him go and he’s yet to play in the club’s first two Ligue 1 games of the 2024-25 campaign.
With the transfer window closing on Friday, United have also been linked with a shock move for Chelsea winger, Raheem Sterling.
According to ESPN, United have been also negotiating with Chelsea over a possible swap of Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.
Sterling was told last week that he is surplus to requirements at Chelsea. The former Man City star is now on the lookout for a new club while Sancho has been unable to convince Erik ten Hag.
