Harry Kane sets new Bundesliga record as Bayern thrashed Werder Bremen 5-0

Bayern Munich continued their good start to the season with a convincing 5-0 win over Werder Bremen and Harry Kane played an important role in the victory.

Kane continued his good form in front of goal by scoring one of the five goals. The England international struck Bayern’s third goal from the edge of the area after Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala had given them a two-goal half-time lead.

His lone strike against Bremen has now seen him become the highest-scoring Englishman in Bundesliga history.

Kane in the process scored his 41st Bundesliga goal in 36 league appearances for the club. The former Tottenham Hotspur star effort lifted him above Jadon Sancho, who scored 40 league goals for Borussia Dortmund.

Michael Olise have also continue his good start to life at Bayern Munich. The summer signing from Crystal Palace involved in four of Bayern’s five goals. His two goals and two assists demonstrated his immediate impact on the team and his ability to link up effectively with Kane and Musiala

The 22-year-old’s movement, vision, and finishing were exceptional throughout the game, causing constant problems for the Bremen defence.

Bayern have now won their first four league games under boss Vincent Kompany.

Meanwhile, Freiburg made it three wins out of four to climb into the top three after Vincenzo Grifo’s double helped them to a 3-0 win at Heidenheim
