Arne Slot calls up 8 Liverpool youngsters ahead of PSV Champions League tie

Liverpool have qualified for the Champions League round of 16 and are expected to secure the top spot having won all seven of their matches so far.
Arne Slot is now expected to make various changes to his team as the Reds face PSV on Wednesday night. Ahead of the game, the Dutch manager promoted a host of Liverpool youngsters to first team training.
Also making an appearance in the training session is Joe Gomez. The defender has not featured since suffering a hamstring problem in the win over West Ham and could play a part on Wednesday night.

Curtis Jones is set to miss out though due to the injury he picked up against Lille last week. Diogo Jota also continues to be absent from training after picking up a muscle injury, with both he and Jones carrying out their recovery work inside the AXA Training Centre’s gym.
Jota has already sat out Liverpool’s preceding three games following a knock picked up at Nottingham Forest.
A number of academy stars joined in the open training, suggesting that Slot might include several in his squad on the road. Kieran Morrison, Isaac Mabaya, Trent Kone-Doherty, Wellity Lucky, Amara Nallo, James Norris, Dominic Corness and Tommy Pilling were all part of Tuesday’s session. They joined the likes of Rio Ngumoha, Jayden Danns and Trey Nyoni, who have all featured already this term.
Most of the youngsters peeled off for separate drills post the initial warm-ups while Ngumoha won’t be able to participate in this season’s Champions League due to UEFA rules.
