Harry Kane hails Vincent Kompany amid bid to end trophy curse

England international Harry Kane has heaped praise on Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany as he admitted the Belgian coach has helped him improve.
Undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world, Kane has continued his prolific form in front of goal under Kompany as the former Tottenham Hotspur forward aims to win his first major trophy.
Despite scoring for fun in his debut season with Bayern, Kane failed to win a trophy and this saw the departure of Thomas Tuchel and the arrival of Kompany.
Under the Belgian, Bayern look like the team to beat as they have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League and are six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table. Kane has now revealed how Kompany has helped shaped his career.

Speaking to CBS Sports, Kane said: “I’ve been really impressed with him as a tactical coach. First and foremost, the way we are playing this season with the high press and man-to-man pressure and also whip the ball. A lot of ball possession, a lot of intensity, a lot of counter-pressing.
“It’s a great way to play, really attacking style. And then also as a person, he is been known as a great leader, wherever he has played. I think he has kind of taken that into his coaching. It doesn’t matter who you are in his team. Whether you have played 500 games or you are playing your first game, you will be treated the same.”
He added: “He will tell you what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong, and the players respect that. We are trying to improve throughout our whole career, and I thought I have improved in the time we have worked together already and he has added a little bit to my game. That’s all you can ask for. I am really enjoying working with him.”
Kompany will be eager to see his star forward continue his good form as both parties aim to win laurels with their new club.
