While Barcelona have flourished under Hansi Flick this season, one player who has failed to make an impact despite the huge hype surrounding his abilities is Ansu Fati.
Fati was tipped to be the next big star at Barcelona but things have not worked out. The Spain international has fallen behind in the pecking order at the Spanish giant. .
His frustration reached a new low when he was left on the bench against Real Betis—a game that was crying out for a goal, while Ansu remained on the sidelines.
According to Mundo Deportivo, things have taken a turn for the worse in the past few months and Fati has now decided to move on with his career.
Since his 28-minute cameo against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey on January 4, he hasn’t played a single minute. Even though he continues to give everything in training, his work has gone completely unnoticed.

What’s hit him hardest is not just being overlooked by the coaching staff, but also by the club off the pitch.
He was consistently sharp in front of goal during sessions, yet when the club praised training performances on social media, his name wasn’t even mentioned. These small but repeated omissions have left a lasting psychological impact.
The report even goes on to suggest that Fati is “psychologically shattered” and feels completely disconnected from the project.
With a contract until 2027, Fati had hoped to write a long story at Barça. Instead, he now sees a summer exit as necessary – not just for his career, but for his own well-being.
Back in January, Ansu had the chance to leave. He was not short of suitors. Four clubs – Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Porto and Besiktas – approached Barça to discuss a potential winter move. But he didn’t budge, a move he will reconsider in the summer.
