Arsenal set to complete €30m signing of Spain Euro 2024 star

Arsenal are on the brink of securing a $32.5million (£25.3m/€30m) move for Real Sociedad and Spain star Mikel Merino.
Merino has become Arsenal top target following his impressive performance at EURO 2024. The 28-year-old midfielder played a pivotal role in helping Spain achieve Euro 2024 glory this summer, with his quarter-final extra time winner seeing Luis de la Fuente’s side past Germany.
According to multiple report, Merino has agreed to personal terms with the Gunners following advanced discussions.
The Spaniard, formerly of Newcastle United, looks poised to be Arsenal’s third signing of the summer following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, and the permanent signing of David Raya from Brentford.

Merino is reportedly thrilled at the prospect of a return to the Premier League with Arsenal, having had a taste of English football during his short spell with Newcastle back during the 2017/18 season.
Currently in the final year of his deal with Real Sociedad, the Spanish side are keen on cashing in on the midfielder as opposed to losing him for free next summer.
The La Liga side had reportedly offered Merino a new deal, which he turned down, leading to them accepting his decision to want to leave the club.
