Barcelona are looking at making various changes to their squad in the summer, with Hansi Flick prepared to challenge for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Topping the list of areas the Catalonia club want to address is their defense line. Barcelona are focused on strengthening the left-back area, and are reportedly open to the sale of Alejandro Balde, provided they receive a lucrative offer this summer.
To replace the Spaniard, Barcelona have identified Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella as a perfect fit.
According to El Chiringuito, the Spanish giant are interested in the services of Cucurella heading into the summer transfer window.

A product of the La Masia youth academy, Cucurella has seen his stock rise since he joined Chelsea in 2022. The 27-year-old is rated highly due to his work-ethic on the flanks, which is coupled with his experience at the highest level of football.
Cucurella’s past with Barcelona academy will also see him adapt to the senior team style of play.
From a sporting perspective, Cucurella will be an interesting addition to the Barcelona setup, as he could serve as a direct replacement for Balde.
Cucurella’s current deal at Stamford Bridge expires in 2028, meaning the Catalans may have an opportunity to sign him on a cut-price deal. It’s now left to see if the Spaniard can be convinced to make the move.
The 27-years-old is likely to cost more than €40 million, and Barcelona will have to convince Chelsea to sell one of their most consistent players.
