Bradley Barcola completes £123m move to Liverpool

Liverpool have officially announced the arrival of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123m.

The French international will begin a new adventure in the Premier League as he becomes the second most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history.

Barcola signed a five-year contract at Anfield after successfully passing his medical at the AXA Training Centre.

The deal sees Liverpool pay a guaranteed £106m for the winger, with additional performance-related add-ons potentially taking the fee to £123m. The transfer fee makes him the second most expensive purchase in Liverpool’s history, trailing only the £125m deal for Alexander Isak from Newcastle in 2025.

Speaking at his unveiling, Barcola who will wear the No.29 shirt for the Reds, expressed his delight at joining Liverpool after months of speculation.

He said: “It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy. It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play. I hope to achieve very big things.”

Barcola added: “I was with my family, quietly, waiting for it to happen. When I saw the news, I was very happy and surrounded by people I love the most. We celebrated well and all we hope now is to be able to enjoy it together here.”

The winger also recalled his previous experiences playing at Anfield as an opponent, which played a major role in his decision to move to the Premier League. Barcola added: “I had the chance to play twice in this stadium and I saw the atmosphere and how the fans were behind the Liverpool players. When I knew about Liverpool’s interest in me, I didn’t ask questions and I knew it was a very big club for me.” The official Liverpool account celebrated the news by simply stating, “Bradley Barcola is a Red. Allez Les Rouges.”

Liverpool are currently rebuilding their front line following the departure of Mohamed Salah.

Expected to replace the Egyptian king, Barcola will form a new front three with Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak.

Barcola leaves Paris with an impressive resume, having made 152 appearances for the club while scoring 39 goals and providing 35 assists.

His trophy cabinet includes three successive Ligue 1 titles and back-to-back Champions League triumphs.
