Como reveal Cesc Fabregas contract clause amid Arsenal, links
Como president Mirwan Suwarso has spoken out about the future of Cesc Fabregas as the Spanish tactician continue to be linked with a move away from Italy.
Fabregas began his managerial career in the summer of 2023 when he took charge of Como’s Under-19 and B teams, having retired after spending his final season as a player at the club.
The former Arsenal midfielder helped Como secure promotion to Serie A and has overseen the Italian club’s dramatic rise.
Como are playing in this season UEFA Champions League after finishing fourth last season and that achievement have caught the eyes of top clubs in Europe.
Recent reports have suggested that Fabregas has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for Barcelona, Chelsea or Arsenal for very little compensation.
Como president has now confirmed he will not stand in the way of Fabregas when he decides to leave the club, insisting he “doesn’t need any compensation”.

”He doesn’t need a clause to go anywhere he wants,” Suwarso told Piers Morgan‘s Football Uncensored show.
”In a business like this, he’s a friend more than anything else. He can go wherever he wants, whenever he wants.
”I could even say if tomorrow he calls me and says, ‘Hey, I want to go to Leverkusen’. I would say if that’s something you want to do then go. I don’t need any compensation.”
Fabregas’s impressive work at Como has seen him linked with a move to his former clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona.
Suwarso hailed the work Fabregas has done in his two years in charge at Como, putting in place the blocks for the club to establish itself domestically and in Europe.
”He’s helped us build our club, he created the football foundations,” Suwarso said.
”I always like to say he’s our Johan Cruyff, as he did at Barcelona. He created the fundamentals for us. I love having him, he’s almost like family. But you can’t keep people who don’t want to be there.”
