Don’t! Laporta sends warning to Mourinho over refereeing complaints
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has sent a strong warning to Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid over referee performance this season.
Defending the La Liga title, Barcelona have made a fantastic start to the 2026-27 season, winning all five matches they have played across all competitions.
Ahead of the Catalonia club’s latest victory over Feyenoord on Wednesday, Laporta made his intention known to the media.
According to Marca, he started by making it clear that he wants success across all fronts during the season.
“We aim to win the third league in a row, which would be extraordinary. We aim to continue being the king of the cups, which would also be very good. We aim to win the Super Cup to strike a blow in the middle of the season, that we are here to try to win La Liga. And, of course, this year we want to win the Champions League. That is the great objective.”, he started by making it clear that he wants success across all fronts during the season.
Laporta was also asked about recent referee complaints made by Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho.

While he made it clear that his focus is solely on Barcelona, he did issue a warning in the Portuguese’s direction.
“We’re busy watching the team that Deco, Bojan, Alejandro, and Hansi Flick have put together. We don’t care about what the other teams do, in principle, as long as they do not exceed the respect and institutional concord that must be maintained between two teams. Well, we are in this position and that the other teams do what they consider appropriate and we respect that, as long as they don’t cross the line of what is normal in relations between clubs.”
Laporta also spoke on the Ballon d’Or nominations for Barcelona trio Pau Cubarsi, Rodri and Lamine Yamal – and he saved special praise for the latter.

“It is a unique club in the world and proof of this are these nominations that we have both at the level of players, coaches and club. We are very proud. The players we have at the club have to be grateful to FC Barcelona for what it gives them.
“(Lamine Yamal is) spectacular. He has exceptional quality, he is a genius and I think his nomination for the Ballon d’Or is more than deserved. He has a self-confidence, a maturity, for his age, fantastic. I feel bad that neither Pedri nor Raphinha are nominated.”
