Erik ten Hag reveals his future status as fans await emotional farewell

Manchester United are set to face Newcastle United in their final home game of the season on Wednesday with Erik ten Hag giving an hint on his future.

Erik ten Hag has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford following a disappointing second season in charge.

However, the former Ajax tactician has insisted that he will not say goodbye to Manchester United fans after their last home game of the season.

Ten Hag confirmed players and staff will take part in a lap of appreciation following Newcastle United’s visit to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

“Goodbye? For me? It’s not how I feel it and how I see it,” Ten Hag told a news conference on Tuesday.

“It’s not the way I go to start that lap of honour for the fans, no. Through good times and bad times we are together and the fans show it; that we are together. So we will do a lap of honour.”

Manchester United have struggled under Erik ten Hag this season with the Red Devils set to miss European football next season.

United are currently occupying the eighth spot on the Premier League table and there are rumors Erik ten Hag will be sacked once the season comes to an end.

New United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is yet to make a public statement on Ten Hag’s future with a decision set to be made after the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25.
