Arsenal likely to sell Trossard or Martinelli to fund summer striker signing

Arsenal are currently in need of a recognized striker but Mikel Arteta will have to make a decisive decision if he wants to bring in a new striker this summer.

Despite looking like favourite to win the Premier League this season, Arsenal are currently 13 points behind league leaders, Liverpool. The London club’s squad have been affected with injuries and the inability to sign a new striker in January has caused more harm.

Ahead of next season, Arteta is aiming for a substantial overhaul of his squad, focusing on securing a top-tier striker and additional attacking options. However, to balance their books and meet the financial demands of these deals, Arsenal could be forced to offload some current players.

According to The Mirror, Trossard or Martinelli could be shipped out to bring in a new forward. Trossard’s future is uncertain despite his positive impact on the pitch while Martinelli has struggled with injury issues and has yet to regain his best form this season.

Martinelli remains an attractive prospect for other clubs in Europe and Arsenal might cash out on the Brazilian if the right offer comes in.

Arsenal have been linked with several key players, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak reportedly high on his list. However, more realistically, the Gunners may pursue RB Leipzig’s promising forward, Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko is expected to be available for a fee around £55m. In addition to a new striker, the Gunners are also in the market for a left winger. Athletic Club’s Nico Williams is believed to be a top target, with Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo also being monitored as a potential addition to the squad.
