Ballon d’Or 2024: Full voting breakdown and points totals acquired by nominees

The 2024 Ballon d’Or will be remembered for its glitz, glamour and also controversies. Manchester City midfielder Rodri was voted the men best player, beating off competition from Vinicius Junior.

In what was a surprising move, Real Madrid’s delegates failed to attend the ceremony as Rodri became the first defensive midfielder in history to win the coveted individual prize.

Vinicius had to settle for second place while his Real Madrid teammates Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal came third and fourth. French publication L’Equipe has now released result detailing the votes received by every player.

Rodri topped the charts with 1,170 points, 41 ahead of Vinicius, while Bellingham was a distant third on 917 points.

Kylian Mbappe and Lautaro Martinez both earned over 400 voting points as they finished inside the top seven, just ahead of Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal.

Yamal scooped 393 points after being named the Kopa Trophy winner – an award handed out to the best young player in the world.
