Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about his successful career and revealed what still motivates him to keep scoring at the age of 39.
Ronaldo achieved another milestone last week when he scored his 900th career goal. His latest milestone comes after a disappointing spell at EURO 2024 where he went five straight games without scoring as Portugal exited the competition from the quarter-final stage.
However, the former Real Madrid forward during September international scored against Croatia and Scotland respectively.
Ronaldo who has not shown any signs of slowing down has now revealed what keeps him going.
Speaking on his YouTube channel during a chat with former colleague Rio Ferdinand, the 39-year-old said, “Last night I was having dinner with my family and my mum and we spoke about some situations that happened in the Euros. It’s the enthusiasm that I still have for the game. I’m [an] addict for football, I’m addicted to scoring goals, and to play at a good level even at my age because I love it.”
Ronaldo will be back in action in club football on Friday as Al-Nassr take on Al-Ahli in a Saudi Pro League clash.
