Liverpool and England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly avoided a serious injury after limping off against Bournemouth at the weekend.

Alexander-Arnold who has continue to be linked with Real Madrid pulled up with 20 minutes to go in the Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Bournemouth and immediately signalled to the bench that he needed to be substituted.

Arnold’s reaction caught the attention of fans as many feared he could be out for a long period.

However, latest report from The Athletic claimed scan result shows Arnold will only sit out for some days. It is believed that the scan result shows there are no signs of any significant injury for Alexander-Arnold, whose absence is expected to last “days rather than weeks”.

Despite the positive news, Alexander-Arnold will still miss Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham Hotspur.

Arne Slot’s side are looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit and, with Joe Gomez also sidelined, Slot will likely turn to impressive understudy Conor Bradley to fill the void.

An away trip to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fourth round awaits on Sunday – a game for which Alexander-Arnold will almost certainly be rested – but he could make his return on February 12 in the rescheduled Merseyside derby against Everton, which was initially postponed in December because of the impact of Storm Darragh.
