Mauricio Pochettino set to land new job amidst interest from England FA

Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly close to making a return to management, however, its not the vacant England job.
Pochettino parted ways with Chelsea at the end of the 23/24 season and has continued to be linked with multiple jobs including the England role after Gareth Southgate opted to step down on the back of the Euro 2024 final defeat against Spain.
However, new report has claimed Pochettino has agreed to become the manager of the United States men’s national team.
According to Prime Video LATAM journalist Ivan Kasanzew, who wrote on social media: “Sources indicate that Mauricio Pochettino has reached an agreement to become the new United States national team coach.”
The USMNT were also interested in former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. However, The Athletic report that the 57-year-old rejected the chance to enter talks over a swift return to management, despite being the top candidate.
According to the report, Klopp has reiterated his plans to take a break from football, and he will not be taking up the position as a result.
Meanwhile, Pochettino is yet to make comment about the latest report.
Ahead of the new season, Chelsea replaced Pochettino with former Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca.
