Real Madrid set to lose 17-year-old academy star compared to Lamine Yamal

Real Madrid are on the verge of losing one of the brightest youngsters in the club’s academy, Paulo Iago, a player many has compared to Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.

At 17 years of age, Paulo Iago has shone at multiple levels for the academ with his speed, agility, dribbling prowess and awareness on the ball making him a special talent.

However, Iago might be on his way out of the club after seeing limited game time in the academy and senior team.

An untimely ankle injury and his return from the U17 World Cup hampered his development at the club for he never completely recovered from the setback.

Iago was slowly relegated to the bench from the position of an undisputed starter.

Advised by his agent Jorge Mendes, reports claimed Iago has now considered leaving Madrid due to lack of playing time.

It has been reported that Iago has attracted interest from clubs in Germany, England, and Italy that appeal to him.

He will be considering the with the arrival of players like Arda Guler set to deny him a promotion to the first team in the future.

In over ten years at the club, Iago has scored over 200 goals for Real Madrid at various levels and he even made it to Alvaro Arbeloa’s Juvenil A setup despite being under-age.
