Harry Kane speaks out on shock £65m Bayern Munich release clause

Harry Kane has broken silence on the shocking release clause included in his contract by Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich.
Undoubtedly one of the best forwards in the world, Kane secured a move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 and has been scoring for fun. However, it came as a huge shock when it emerged that Kane had ensured an exit clause written in his Bayern contract.
Speaking to the press after bagging a brace in his side’s 3-0 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen on Friday, the 31-year-old – who has been linked with a Premier League return – gave little away when pressed on the matter.
He told Sky Germany: “What I can say is that I’m very happy at FC Bayern. No comment on the clause.”
Kane added on the Bremen win: “It was another nice game. There will always be tight games throughout the season, I want to take responsibility and open the game up. It’s happened a few times this season which is good. I’m enjoying being out here with the boys. There’s always room for improvement for myself personally, like the one I missed with the left foot today. But it’s always nice to score.”
Reports suggest Kane could be available for €65 million (£54m) when the 2026 January transfer window rolls round, which could be a worthwhile purchase.
The England captain who will be 32 by next January, has scored 72 goals and bagged 22 assists in 73 matches for Bayern Munich and has not shown any signs of slowing down.
