Havertz’s unborn child threatened, wife calls for respect

Kai Havertz’s unborn child has been threatened on social media following the forward penalty miss in Arsenal’s loss to Manchester United on Sunday.
Havertz missed a penalty in Arsenal’s shootout loss at the Emirates on Sunday before Sophia Havertz — who is expecting her first child with the Germany international — reposted two messages she had received on Instagram.
“I’m going to come to your house and slaughter your baby I’m not joking just wait,” says one, from Instagram user @campo.jr1.
“I hope you have a miscarriage,” says another message, sent from an Instagram account entitled @kingaimz10.

Arsenal have reported the abuse to the police and are working with a specialist data firm to try to identify the culprits.
“For anyone to think it’s okay to write something like this is so shocking to me. I hope you are so ashamed of yourself,” Sophia Havertz wrote as she shared one of the direct messages to her half a million followers.
Turning to another highly abusive message, she added: “I’m not sure what to even say but please guys, be more respectful. We are better than this.”
If the culprits are identified, Arsenal will seek the strongest action possible. The accounts have also been reported to Instagram.
The wife of Arsenal’s number 29 announced her pregnancy via Instagram in November 2024. Sophia and Kai Havertz have been publicly dating since 2018.
