Atletico Madrid are reportedly willing to offer former Golden Boy winner Joao Felix in the deal to sign Julian Alvarez from Manchester City.

Having failed to fulfill his true potential at Atletico Madrid, Felix has spent the last two season on loan. The Portuguese enjoyed a solid 2023/24 campaign with FC Barcelona and hoped for a return in the summer transfer window.

However, the Catalan giants do not have the financial means to afford a deal for the former Golden Boy winner, who won the award in 2019. Atletico Madrid are now willing to take a bold step.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Joao Felix and Julian Alvarez might swap bases in the summer transfer window. The latter is the subject of interest from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid. The Colchoneros are ready to offer the former Golden Boy winner in the swap deal to sign the Argentine international, whose price tag is £70 million.

Julian Alvarez has been forced to play back-up since arriving from River Plate two years ago and wants a shot at first team football. Tagged “Mr Dependable”, the Argentine international has turned out over 100 times thus far for Manchester City while chipping in with 36 goals and 18 assists.

However, the Copa America 2024 winner wants to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window, as he wants to become a first-choice striker.

Atletico Madrid are scouting the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window after parting ways with Memphis Depay as a free agent. Alvaro Morata has also played his last game for Los Rojiblancos ahead of his move to AC Milan.

Manchester City will demand around £70 million for Alvarez and Atletico Madrid and its left to see if the addition of Felix will make things easier for Atletico.
