‘Very Happy’: Luka Modric responds to talk of return to Real Madrid
Veteran AC Milan midfielder Luka Modric has been linked with a sensational return to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The 40-year-old left Santiago Bernabeu in June last year before completing a free transfer to Milan, but it has been suggested he could retrace his steps amid a creativity void in the Madrid engine room.
Madrid have struggled for consistency this season with the likes of Jude Bellingham struggling with injury. Reports from Bild suggest the Spanish giants are desperate to inject proven quality back into their engine room.
This has led to the sensational suggestion that the club could turn to Modric, who has been a revelation for Milan this season.
However, Modric has shut down such rumors, claiming he’s happy in Italy.

The Ballon d’Or winner is currently enjoying a stellar stint in Serie A and remains fully committed to the Rossoneri project.
AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has also been linked with a move to Madrid.
“Allegri and I in Real Madrid? The rumours are always there, but I’m not interested in them,” the midfielder stated, as quoted by Madrid Xtra. “I’m very happy here in Milan.”
Reports have claimed Madrid are considering bringing in Allegri as the primary successor of current manager Alvaro Arbeloa.
However, Allegri has mirrored his Modric’s sentiment, emphasizing his commitment to his current role. Addressing the links to the Madrid hot seat, he clarified: “I’m happy in Milan and I have a contract until 2027.”

Allegri was actually close to becoming Los Blancos manager several times, in 2019 and 2021, but the Italian decided to stay at Juventus.
Modric and Allegri will continue to work together for the time being as they aim to win the League title and qualify for European football.
AC Milan currently sit second in the Serie A standings, seven points behind leaders Inter. They face Lazio on March 15th, and Allegri will be hoping his team secure all three points.
