Luke Shaw back in Man Utd training after three months out

Manchester United defender and England International Luke Shaw has returned to training following three months out with injury.

Luke Shaw hasn’t played for the United since February, sustained a calf injury in early August. Though he was expected to return after the international break in October but Shaw suffered a huge setback and this was confirmed by former manager Erik ten Hag.

Shaw suffered a hamstring injury in February that ruled him out of the remainder of the last Premier League season.

However, he was selected in England’s squad for Euro 2024 and started the final defeat by Spain after missing the group phase.

Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy said earlier this week that fellow left-back Tyrell Malacia, who hasn’t played for the club since April 2023 following a knee injury, was closer to returning to action than Shaw.

United are gradually having their injured players as summer signing Leny Yoro also returned to first team training during the week.

The Red Devils splash £52m to acquire Yoro’s service from Lille but things has not worked according to plan.

Yoro sustained a serious foot problem during United’s pre-season friendly against Arsenal on the club’s US tour. He underwent surgery to correct the issue which has delayed his anticipated competitive debut.

It is still unclear if both players will be given a game time when Manchester United face Leicester City on Sunday.
