Out-of-favour Man United star responds to Napoli interest
Manchester United are still looking at pushing some players to the exit door this summer transfer and topping that list is midfielder Scott McTominay.
Having been linked with various clubs, McTominay is considering joining Napoli if the Serie A side make a suitable offer.
Napoli have made contact over a move for the Scotland international and while United are not actively looking to sell their academy graduate, they will consider offers. United are looking at raising funds having been active in the transfer window.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte remain a top target for the United and the Premier League giant as they need to raise additional funds through player sales.
Though Erik ten Hag is willing to have McTominay around, the Scotland international would appear to be tempted by a move to the Serie A giants, with ESPN reporting he is ‘aware of Napoli’s interest’ with their offer ‘under consideration’.
Fulham are also interested in McTominay having seen two offers rejected in recent weeks. Turkish club, Galatasaray have also been credited with interest.
United are looking for a permanent deal rather than a loan move. However, their asking price might pose a threat to the deal. According to The Times, Napoli’s budget does not stretch to United’s asking price with a loan their preferred arrangement.
McTominay who scored 10 goals last season is valued between £25million and £30million.
