Napoli looking to sign £36.5m Man Utd star after Scott McTominay success

Napoli are prepared to storm Manchester United during the January transfer window as they hope to sign Joshua Zirkzee after Scott McTominay’s successful start.

McTominay left United for Napoli in the summer and has been able to adapt to the club’s style of play. Napoli coach Antonio Conte now wants the club to sign Joshua Zirkzee, hoping he’ll also play at the highest level.

Zirkzee joined Manchester United from Bologna in July, the deal was worth £36.5m but the Netherlands international has only shown glimpse of what he can offer.

Napoli are now eager to offer him a way out with Juventus also reportedly interested.

According to Italian outlet Il Mattino, Napoli manager Conte has given the ‘green light’ for the club to enter the race to sign Zirkzee from United.

They add that Zirkzee himself would be interested in a return to Serie A in the upcoming January transfer window. Napoli tried to sign him in the summer but he opted for Manchester United.

Zirkzee remains a target for Napoli, though, who are particularly keen on signing a second United player after McTominay’s glowing start in Naples.

Former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku has also been in a great form for Napoli, and Zirkzee might join him anytime soon.
