Newcastle set sight on Spain World Cup star as Anthony Gordon replacement

Newcastle United have cashed out on Anthony Gordon following the England international £70million move to Barcelona.

Gordon penned a five-year contract with the Barcelona, a move that came as a bitter blow to Bayern Munich after they agreed terms with the England international only for him to end up in Spain.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a fruitful three-and-a-half years with the Magpies, scoring 39 goals and assisting 28 in 152 appearances across all competitions.

Newcastle have now move swiftly to identify a player who will replace him at the club. According to talkSPORT, Victor Munoz has been identified as the perfect fit.

Report claim Newcastle are in advanced talks with Osasuna for the talented left winger.

Spain international, Munoz enjoyed a breakout campaign for Osasuna, scoring six times and assisting two more.

The 22-year-old impressive displays for the Pamplona outfit earned him a call-up to the Spanish national team in the March international break.

Munoz scored on debut in a 3-0 win over Serbia and featured in a 0-0 draw with Egypt.

His impressive display during the international break saw him earn a place in Spain’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The left winger, who only joined Osasuna last July from Real Madrid, could now be on his way to Newcastle.
