Pep Guardiola reveals Kevin De Bruyne injury return date as Rodri misses rest of 2024/25 season
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed the return date of injured star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as the citizens lose Rodri for the remainder of 2024/25 season.
De Bruyne was forced off during City’s 0-0 draw with Inter Milan in the Champions League and went on to miss the heated 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League.
Despite being tipped to recover before the next match, the Belgium international sat out the 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Watford on Tuesday and will not be available for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Newcastle.
Guardiola who has already lost Rodri for the remainder of the season has now revealsd that De Bruyne will be able to feature before next month’s international break
“No [he is not ready to play],” he said.
“Maybe before the international break [he will be available again].”
Man City will travel to St James’ Park before a visit to Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday as the Champions League starts up again.
Pep Guardiola’s team will then host Fulham on Saturday October 5 before the international break runs between Monday October 7 and Tuesday October 15.
Fans will be hoping De Bruyne recover after the international so as to help City continue their push for another silverware this season.
