‘Have some balls’: Pochettino issues strong message to Chelsea flops
Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino has sent a strong message to his players ahead of their Premier League clash with Everton on Monday night.
Despite getting positive result against the top teams this season, Chelsea have continue to struggle against average teams with the London club currently placed 9th on the log.
Mauricio Pochettino has now urge his team to show a willingness to compete when they face a struggling Everton side.
Speaking ahead of the match, Pochettino stated that Chelsea have the talent to win games. However, his team have struggled when they don’t have the ball.
According to Pochettino, it’s disappointing Chelsea failed to win at Sheffield United during their last match despite leading until the last minute.
He said: “We need to all feel very disappointed because did you see the goal? We lose one challenge. We lose the second, the third and the four and the five. And then we concede in the same action. And that was the last minute of the game
“It’s about having the capacity to go there and to say, ‘We are a winner, I’m going to win this challenge, I’m going to be strong, I’m going to defend, I’m going to not concede a goal.’ That is not more than capacity, you know, mentality, and all being together.”
Chelsea are set to be without Enzo Fernandez and Raheem Sterling as Pochettino’s team continue to struggle with injuries.
