PSG sweating over Dembele fitness ahead of Arsenal Champions League decider
Paris Saint-Germain are sweating over the fitness of Ousmane Dembele ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal.
Dembele has been enjoying a great season and his goal scoring form continued on Tuesday night when PSG defeated Arsenal at the Emirates. Dembele scored the only goal, beating David Raya inside four minutes.
However, Dembele was forced off during the second half and has subsequently been unable to train.
PSG are next in action this weekend against Strasbourg, though with the league title already wrapped up there is no pressure to field a full-strength team and risk players before the visit of the Gunners.
Latest report from RMC Sport claim that Dembele sat out the training session on Thursday as a precaution and is now considered a doubt to face Liam Rosenior’s side.
L’Equipe added that Dembele will be monitored over the coming days but is not currently set to undergo scans.
Speaking after the win on Tuesday, Dembele told reporters: “I felt a little something, but it’s okay.”
Enrique added: “It’s not serious, it’s something very minor, but he’s probably a doubt for the second leg.
“We’re going to try to get Dembele back on the pitch. If Ousmane can play, that’s better, but if he doesn’t, we’ll still be a real team. We’ve been saying that since the start of the season.”
