PSG target Desire Doue’s brother as Achraf Hakimi back-up

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly identify Strasbourg defender Guela Doue as the ideal candidate to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The French champions were dominant last season, defending the UEFA Champions League trophy as well as winning the French Ligue 1 title. PSG are now looking at providing an high-quality cover for Achraf Hakimi following inability to sign someone last summer.

According to Foot01, sporting director Luis Campos has renewed his search for a specialised right-back who will support his current star.

PSG have previously relied on makeshift solutions, deploying midfielders Warren Zaire-Emery and Joao Neves to fill in during Hakimi’s rare absences. The club have now decided to find a lasting solution, with 23-year-old Strasbourg defender Guela identified as a perfect fit.

Guela enjoyed an outstanding domestic campaign in Alsace after signing a contract until June 2029.

The former Rennes man has developed into a benchmark defender in Ligue 1, contributing two goals and seven assists across 34 appearances.

His unique ability to operate as a traditional full-back, slot into central defence, or tuck into midfield perfectly aligns with the fluid tactical demands of manager Luis Enrique.

He has also been impressive at the 2026 World Cup, featuring three times and helping Ivory Coast to help secure a place in the round of 32.

Aside PSG, Borussia Dortmund have also shown interest in the defender. Strasbourg have slapped a significant €30m to €35m valuation on Guela, hoping this will chase off suitors.
