Barcelona midfielder Rodri has found himself at the centre of attention after being caught on camera making blunt comments about Valencia during Sunday’s 5-0 victory at Mestalla.
Hansi Flick’s side continued their impressive start to the season. Rodri made his first La Liga start since returning to Spain, was substituted in the 62nd minute with his side already leading 3-0.
The former Manchester City man shared his thoughts on Valencia as he took a seat beside Pau Cubarsi on the bench.
Rodri’s comments were picked up by Movistar Plus cameras, with the Spanish midfielder speaking openly without covering his mouth.

“They’re really weak—these guys are really weak… Really weak. They’re really bad, man. They’re terrible.
“How did they finish last season? They didn’t even make it past midfield in the second half…,” Rodri told Cubarsi at different points while watching the remainder of the game.
The exchange has since sparked debate over whether the midfielder crossed a line or was simply speaking candidly to a teammate during a private conversation.
Rodri spent seven years playing in the Premier League, and his yet to adapt to the tempo of Spanish football.
