Thomas Frank open to Harry Kane’s Tottenham return

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank is open to having Harry Kane back at the club after it was revealed the England captain has a release clause in his Bayern Munich contract.
Kane left north London in favour of Bavaria in 2023 and has gone on to achieve staggering feats at Allianz Arena. With 98 goals in 103 matches, the England international has hit the ground running in Germany and recently broke a long-standing Bundesliga record.
However, despite Kane’s heroic performances for Bayern, he could still make a return to Tottenham.
Bayern bought Kane for a reported £100 million, but a clause in his agreement would have allowed him to leave the club for £67m in January 2025.
That figure will drop to £54m in the next transfer window, according to multiple reports, and it is believed Spurs would have a first option.

“There are a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself, who would like to see Kane back,” Frank said when asked about the possibility.
“Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now, if I’m honest. He’ll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well.
“He was the top scorer last year. He won the title and he’s doing fantastic now.”
Kane’s start to the new season has been impressive, with 13 goals from just seven matches, and Frank feels he still has more to do at Bayern, but would never turn down the chance to work with the Spurs legend.
“I don’t know what he’s thinking,” Frank added.
“Myself, I’m a traveller, I like to explore things as well, so he’s been here for many years, so why not enjoy the time in Bayern a little bit more.
“But he’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s more than welcome.”
Kane came through the academy setup at Spurs and gained valuable experience with loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City before making his mark on the first team.
By the time he left Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, Kane had bagged 280 goals in 435 appearances to become the club’s all-time top goalscorer.
