UEFA to fix Allianz Arena pitch, fine PSG after Champions League victory
Latest report from Bild has claimed UEFA will pay for the damage done to the field at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena during the just concluded 2024/25 UEFA Champions League final.
Paris Saint-Germain recorded a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan to lift their first Champions League trophy as it was a magical night for the France team. In the mood of celebrations, PSG fans stormed the pitch and started (literally) tearing up the field, significant damage was done.
PSG players were were forced to run off the pitch and the trophy was rushed into the dressing room, bringing a temporary halt to celebrations.
With Germany facing off with Portugal on Wednesday at Allianz Arena, the repair work must be complete shortly.
Bild has now reported that to recoup the fund spent on repairs, UEFA will levy a fine on PSG.
UEFA, as the organizer of the Champions League final, has to pay for the damage to the Allianz Arena pitch. The European football association will recoup the costs from PSG through a fine.
PSG are currently in a celebratory mood and will have no issues paying any amount issued to them as fine.
